la léotardie, dordogne wedding film

I arrived at the Domaine via a long forest lined drive to be met with calm activity for the preparation, friends milling in and out of the kitchen making food and helping where required. All was peaceful, the sun was out, the birds were singing and the bride was in the middle of her preparation - everything was in order.

Lucy Williams, wedding planner, had a wet weather/plan B for the ceremony and dinner which were both to be held outside.

The rain fell but the bride was patient and the clouds eventually rolled on. The outside ceremony by the pigeonnier in the large park went ahead, followed by drinks & canape in the shade of the main house.

By the time for the wedding dinner the clouds had rolled back in and the skies opened.

Again, the bride held firm, the rain storm passed, the tables were wiped down and the meal in the large courtyard, crisscrossed by string lights, with the wedding party sat under a canopy of green with hanging glass candle baubles proceeded.

The evening turned into night and the sky was like a cape of diamonds hidden only when the fireworks exploded with a whoosh and a bang into the night sky.
