At the top of a green valley and overlooking the small town of Beaulieu sur Dordogne I met up with Lauren & Neil the afternoon before their wedding at Chateau du Doux.
The chateau was built in 1904 and is striking. It retains a lot of art nouveau charm. And the views......the views are incredible.
The couple and their friends and family were having a fabulous time only having seen the chateau the day they arrived. There was no risk though; the team are professional, friendly and helpful. They ran a great wedding.
The morning of the wedding and the weather was......dramatic. I was disappointed so I can only imagine how the bride and groom felt. As we were so high up, the low clouds clipped the green tree topped hills and the effect was striking. As the morning turned into the afternoon, we witnessed the clouds peal back to reveal a blue sky all in time for the outdoor ceremony.
There was a lot of humour and laughter, a relaxed vibe and everyone had the best of times.
